Delete your BirthWave account
Applies to the BirthWave app published by Birth Wave LLC · Last updated August 13, 2026
Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your BirthWave account does not cancel your Apple or Google subscription, and it does not stop future charges. Cancel through the store you bought from, then come back and delete your account.
iPhone or iPad: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → BirthWave → Cancel Subscription.
Android: Google Play app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → BirthWave → Cancel.
Option 1Delete in the app
This is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.
- Open BirthWave and go to your Profile.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. Your account is closed and deletion begins straight away.
Option 2Request deletion by email
Use this if you have already uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or would rather we handle it.
Send us a request
Email support@mybirthwave.com with the subject line Account deletion request, sent from the email address on your BirthWave account, and tell us you want your account and associated data deleted.
We verify identity by confirming you control the account email. If you write from a different address, we will email the account address to confirm before deleting anything.
DetailWhat gets deleted
- Your account and login credential
- Your name, email address and all profile details, including any pregnancy or due-date information you entered
- Your favourite tracks and saved content
- Your listening history and in-app activity records
- Support correspondence linked to your account, on request
- Your records held by our service providers, which we instruct to delete in turn
Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore a deleted account, and re-subscribing later will create a new, empty one.
DetailWhat we keep, and why
- Transaction records
- Purchase and refund records are retained for up to 7 years to meet tax, accounting and audit obligations. These are held separately from your profile and are not used to identify you as a BirthWave listener.
- Encrypted backups
- Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days, after which they are overwritten on a rolling schedule. They are not accessible for ordinary use during that period.
- Aggregate statistics
- Anonymised, aggregated usage counts that can no longer be linked to you or your device are retained. These contain no personal information.
- Fraud and abuse records
- Where an account was closed for fraud, chargeback abuse or a breach of our Terms of Use, we retain the minimum record needed to prevent repeat abuse.
DetailHow long it takes
In-app deletion closes your account immediately. Email requests are actioned within 7 days of us verifying your identity. In both cases, deletion across our systems and our service providers completes within 30 days, and residual backup copies are overwritten within 90 days. We will email you to confirm when it is done.
DetailOther requests
If you would rather keep your account but remove specific data — for example clearing your listening history or your profile details — email support@mybirthwave.com and tell us what you want removed.
